PAST EXHIBITIONS
“Und wenn sie nicht gestorben ist… Glasgravur! …and they engrave happily ever after!”

This exhibition focuses around the traditional skills of glass engraving. A Europe-wide network of glass engravers ensures that this very precious form of glass decoration does not disappear into oblivion.
Following their exhibition “Gravur on Tour”, displayed over the last two years in seven various European glass museums, the same group of artists now present their second joint project.
The ehibition’s title “….. and they engrave happily ever after!” refers specifically to the final sentence at the end of every Grimms’ Fairy Tale, establishing its connection with Nordhessen, home of the Grimm Brothers and the German Fairy Tale Route.
There are, though, fairy tales all over the world and they offer a richly diverse range of inspiration.
29 artists from 11 countries interpret the theme “fairy tales” in a wide variety of ways and also allude to stories from their own cultural backgrounds. The abundant range of individual narrative and interpretation reflects the rich world of possibilities that only the glass engraver inhabits. Each participating artist demonstrates how up to date this ancient art remains and that the title of the exhibition reflects their lifelong vocation and passion.
